Whilst developing our web systems, we have worked with selected key clients to produce their own functional web systems. During this time there has been a significant move towards permissions controlled features provided online. For example, private viewing areas, Forums, Private documents, member based information services, discounted price areas, product preview systems etc.
These are undeniably great features to include on any website. However they do require the User to remember a Username / password combination. This has to be the top reason for commercial failure of expensive web service projects. "I simply can't be bothered to log in"
The toolbar addresses this. Designed to work with the Windows operating system, the toolbar enables instant log in to a web service from a simple button click. The toolbar is a small piece of code that installs onto the users desktop. After the one-click installation the user is asked to complete their accounts details. This is then programmed into the Users machine. One click and they are in!
Clearly such easy access is only suited to certain controlled web services ... NOT Bank accounts for example! However, many member organisations and on-line retailers understand the benefits of this system and are happy that their Users are encouraged to return to their website by such a simple method.
